Claire Zivley Baker is a native Houstonian. She earned a BA from Vanderbilt University and received her law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1982. She has practiced law for almost 37 years. Claire has a rich history with Bayou Bend. She is the granddaughter of Jane Zivley, Ima Hogg’s personal secretary, trusted confidant, and friend for 25 years. Jane played a vital role in acquiring the many historical treasures that are housed at Bayou Bend today and oversaw the transition of Bayou Bend from Ima Hogg’s home to a museum. In addition to conducting tours of Bayou Bend as a docent, Claire serves on the board of BEAR and the Southside Place Community Garden. She served as Chairman of the Park Board for the City of Southside Place and was a member of their City Council for several years.
